  1. It's kind of deeply hilarious to me that Misfit is way too young to remember The Misfits.

But I'd love to see her catch some Jem reruns sometime.

  2. i hope to be adding to that list with my upcoming stuff. though i'm not big company guy or anything i think my new creations would fit this motley crew.

i thought misfit was just goofy to be goofy. i couldn't get invested in that character but i do pay tribute to her in an odd way in one of my books.

no i'm not going to shill my sites and junk. i spare you. i just found this funny given the nature of my work.

  3. I haven't gotten my Big Box O'Comics for this month, so did Knockout get whacked because of the whole "Death of the New Gods" business? Really, do they have to kill every parademon and bug just to make a point? Looking forward to the all-girl massacre of the Female Furies?

I never liked Misfit either. It kills me Simone gave the Crime Doctor such an excellent origin story before killing him, then gives Misfit a lame one on her way out the door, a hot potato* for the next creative team.

*See what I did there? Because her family got roasted! Burn!!!

  5. OK, I haven't read the issue, but...they SHOT Knockout? What with, a bazooka? Actually, no, a bazooka still wouldn't be enough. This was a woman who went toe-to-toe with Super-people, how did they sell the "shot and killed" thing in a way that made any sense?

  6. It's the same weird light thing that's killing all the New Gods, John.

  7. I really rather liked that issue of Ironman - they did a good job of making you care about Gadget's death after introducing her that same issue.

  8. I think it will be a while before I'm ready to talk about Knockout.

But Misfit, oh my Misfit how I love you! And here's why. You felt the dream, you put on the batgirl togs, and you found the clocktower. Then Babs took you aside and she TOLD you, Charlotte. She told you all about the fridge. So what did you do? You stuck out your tongue and you made your OWN damn costume and you bounced around with even more annoying, daring confidence.

You're what I want my daughter to be. Even if I won't be able to stand it.
