Seth Rogan On His "Green Hornet" Workout Regimen

"[I wonder] If they still have those things that they just electronically work out for you as you lay there doing nothing," Rogen pondered. "They electronically stimulate your muscles into working out so I can be lazy and athletic at the same time. Pay someone to exercise me."

I think Van Williams just threw up in his mouth a little.

  1. Okay, I saw "Knock-Up," which means I've seen Seth Rogen (mostly) naked. Yes, Katherine Hiegel is WAY too hot for him, but they tried to get WAY too much mileage out of his body. That bit would have worked much better with the originally cast Michael Cera's scrawny frame and squeeky voice. I look more like Cera than Rogen, and in my experience a Rogen will pull more ladies, in part because his build is more "manly" and will make a girl feel less conscious of her own weight.

I just don't think Rogen looked bad naked. I'm straight, so I don't dwell on this overmuch, but as a straight male I thought the guy had a reasonably attractive body for an average, somewhat overweight guy. In my terms, I think it translates into digging on a Janine Garafalo-- she's no Milla Jovovich, but she's hardly Camryn Manheim either. And this is Green Hornet we're talking about here-- the dude in the bulky green trenchcoat and fedora who let Kato do all the hand-to-hand fighting. Rogen's got a deep, commanding action hero voice, which for this particular part is good enough for me. It helps I'm one of the majority of global citizens who don't give two squats about the Green Hornet, so any interesting casting choice can only help.

  2. C'mon, Janeane Garafalo is way hotter than Seth Rogen. (Or was, anyway. I haven't seen her lately.)
You make a good point, though - with Kato around the Hornet doesn't need to be any kind of shape at all. There's something kinda endearing about the idea of a tubby detective who hires a guy to do all the action for him.

Hmmm ... I suppose the 26 episodes I have on DVD must have been a different series. Looks like the Hornet does just as much fighting, if not more, than Kato.
