More Skrull Promo Stuff: Oh, Boy...

So if Cage is a Skrull, when do you think it happened?

Also, is this whole Skrull thing going to be like a "Sleeper Cell" scenario where even the Skrull agents don't know they are Skrulls until a certain time when they are "awakened?"

Geez, I'd really hate to see the Jessica/Luke thing turn out like that...I mean, Iron Fist has the more screwed up origin, I'd assume he'd be one first.

  1. Are you not reading the Iron Fist comic that is coming out now? It is so effing sweet. As for the Cage/Jones/&Danielle thing, ugh. I'm so sick of it. I like Bendis bunches, but I think he's been sloppy. Taking shots at families for cheap melodrama is a yawnfest.

  2. That what I asked back down in the comment section of one of the your other postings of the Secret War promo images. I'm REALLY thinking that a lot of these guys are sleepers and don't even know they ARE Skrulls until the proper moment. It makes a lot of sense for that.

  3. True dat (huh?), Iron Fist is totally crescent fresh right now. It's easily my favorite comic coming from marvel right now.

So if Luke cage is a Skrull is his baby half human half skrull? Wouldn't it have a messed up chin or do Skrull babies not look all skrully when they're born? BTW, these promo images really have to stop, we get it Marvel. Anyone could be a skrull, and Greg horn loves photoshop! Yipee!

  4. I like how even though current Luke Cage doesn't actually wear a costume, for anybody to recognize him as a character, especially when green, he has to have a fro, yellow lapels and his metal headband.

Part of the point of these ads is that everyone is in their old style costumes, there's a cover to Secret Invasion #2 that shows a bunch of "classic" costumed heroes breaking out of somewhere, suggesting either a bunch of heroes have been Skrulls for a long time, or the Skrulls are going to bust out an awesome disinformation campaign to mess with the heroes.

Either way, though it's cute to make a comment about the sad state of Luke Cage and black heroes, you could say the same thing about Jean Grey, Clint Barton or even Hercules, who all have their 'old' costumes on in their teasers too.

  6. Well, personally I think if they are sleeper agents (which may or may not be the case, as most of the Skrulls we've seen thus far--Blackbolt, the leader of the Liberteens--seemed to be aware of their Skrull-ness), it's mainly going to be relegated to folks who don't have books with their names on the cover (unless those books are coming to an end). Of the images they've shown, I'm pretty sure Wolverine and Hercules are in the clear.

  7. a friend of mine who has read the whole secret invasion thing said this:

"if you go back through new avengers basically everyone you THINK is a skrull is."

and the baby issue wasn't even addressed, the baby's eyes went all skrully cause of skrull milk from the skrull cows dating back to the early fantastic four stan lee days.

so no, luke cage isn't a skrull.

    but jarvis is.

  8. Why is John Henry Irons dressed up like Luke Cage? More importantly, why would Marvel think he could be a Skrull?

  9. Personally, the more people who turn out to have been Skrulls for a while, the happier I'll be. Wind the entire Marvel Universe back to 1988, I say. :)

  10. If Danny turns out to be a Skrull, everyone's going to go, "What, he's been replaced with an alien again?!? What is it with you, dude?"
