I think it should be the Stephanie Brown thing and how it broke people into two camps, those who thought it was a significant victory and those who didn't. I mean, if nothing else, that was pretty fascinating.
ReplyDeleteThe Simone v Sim thing was all sizzle and no steak. I think Simone, while she seems very nice, isn't as smart as she thinks she is and all her traps in her posts just came off as cheap baiting. Sim's just about as big of a piece of shit as someone can be, and someone beside Jeff Smith should be calling him out, but Simone wasn't the one to do it.
Dave Sim makes Frank Miller look like a mature elder statesman of comics. I can imagine what kind of shit he's trying to stir up with Ms. Simone, probably another itteration of his "Women be different than men!" screeds.

I'd throw in my agreement that the Sim/Simone thing has been a bit of a let down. I don't know why I thought they might seriously tear into stuff, but i've been a bit underwhelmed. Maybe it's just that the whole thing strikes me as a bit too much of Sim hawking Glamourpuss, which has yet to strike me as something that's going to be remotely entertaining.
ReplyDeleteOn the Bird's of Prey thing--if it turns out that they're actually giving Tony Bedard the job, instead of just using him as pet filler writer, it might be worth it.
Oh, who's kidding who here. The trophy case has the most traction. Boom goes the dynamite.
