Halloween, 1982

Held the grudge for a few weeks. But then I got over it because...well, because I'm the oldest and I'm mature like that.

Anybody else ever dress up like a superhero for Halloween? A-Team characters count, but Huckleberry Hound doesn't.

  1. On two different occasions my mom made me my own superhero costumes. Not of any particular character. Just me. Photos exist, but Mainly, a cape, and sewing some letter to the front of a sweatshirt, but that was good for me. I had those two different capes for years. I'd put them on and run around the house. yea!!!

  3. Twice - once as Green Lantern when very small, and again as Cyclops in forth grade (my little sister was Batgirl from Zero Hour that year).

  4. (My wheelchair-bound sister also dressed as the Rocketeer sometime in the early 90s. ;) )

  6. Let's see... I was Bravestar in the 1st grade, the Shredder in the 2nd grade, Donatello from the Ninja Turtles in the 3rd grade, uh... the Riddler in the eighth grade, Dr. Evil my senior year of high school (I entered the costume contest at school with a girl dressed as a fembot and we won first place, by the way), and the last couple of years I've been Spider-Man, either going to parties or handing out candy.

    Have a good day.

  7. Apparently, when I was four years old, a kid in a Spider-Man costume came to the door just as I walked around the corner and entered the foyer. I quickly ran shrieking back the way I had come.

    And that's why I don't read Spider-Man.

  10. Points for me. Rock them lambchops.

Let's see... I wore a shitty store-bought Spider-Man poncho-costume one year, I was the Jim Twilley Grimjack once in my teens, and I was the sidekick to my well muscled African-American friend's the Black Bat(man) in my orange luchadore mask, black turtleneck, and matching cape at 16. The Joker is also my back-up costume this year, based solely on my owning a cheap lavender suit, so we'll see...

  11. I was Wolverine in fifth grade (the construction of which was probably the hardest I worked in all of elementary school), the Joker when I was a freshman in college, my girlfriend dressed as Harley Quinn, I was Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law a couple years ago, and when I get lazy, I'm Clark Kent, mid-transformation. Mainly because I wear glasses and have Clark-ish hair.

  12. I've been Harley Quinn and Power Girl, as well as Delerium on two separate Halloweens.

My best friend and I were Xena and Gabrielle in '98.

    I'm a big ol' nerd.

  13. Let's see. . .

1st grade, 1987, I was a Ghostbuster (does it count?)

2nd, 1988, grade Hicks from Aliens (does it count)

3rd grade 1989, The Tick and my friend Ken was Arthur (This was pretty cool cause at the time my dad had picked up most of the first run of Tick at a convention in NY with me and I was the only one I knew at all who had any idea what it was. How I convinced my friend to dress up as a character I'd never heard of I have no idea but it was great.)

    4th Grade, 1990, Longshot

    5th Grade, 1991, Captain America

    7th Grade, 1992, Darth Vadar

    8th Grade, 1993, Two-Face

10th Grade, 1995, Wesley Dodds Sandman

  14. I went as Clark Kent last year, mostly due to a desire for a costume that let me wear my glasses for once. Easy costume. Khakis, Superman t-shirt, button down shirt over the t-shirt and tucked in but only half buttoned.

  16. I was Batman when I was like 8, and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle when I was 5 and 6.

This year I am going as Red Arrow... full red leather and all... and my best friend who has the most perfectest beard is going as Green Arrow.

Teh Gheys are going to rock it on Saturday!

  18. A couple of times. Batman and Spider-Man in my elementary school days. Rorschach when I was a teenager (and I got attacked by a bunch of elementary school kids in soldier outfits because I scared them.)

  19. I went as the Punisher in fourth grade, but I had to leave my gun inside during recess. Wow, a toy gun at school. 1990, what a time.

Oh, and a very crappy Violater from Spawn in eighth grade. Never have I regretted a costume more.

  20. I think I had the standard Superman costume one year as a kid (although hand-made, since my mom's awesome). The padding for muscles came in handy when I accentially fell down someone's porch stairs...which...happened a couple times...

  21. I was Superman when I was 5 or 6.

Next year, when my kids are old enough, I'll be Batman, my son Robin, my wife Catwoman, and my daughter Batgirl (the cool Cassandra Cain version if possible).
