"Deal Or No Deal" Models To Appear In Slave Leia Bikinis

A special 2-hour Star Wars themed episode of the game show "Deal or No Deal" will air tonight on NBC. The show will feature, among other things, 26 models dressed in Slave Leia metal bikinis.

No word if they will have to wear red or green buttons to indicate if they would like their boobs touched.

  1. Expect record downloads of this episode by horny nerds.

On a personal note, I have never been attracted to fictional characters in a sexual manner. Even my non-geek friends love it when they see Wonder Woman and Leia portrayed as sexual fantasies. I never cared for it and think its sad..

  3. Having them portrayed as sexual fantasies I often find odd, but having such sexual fantasies isn't any odder, or sadder, than fantasizing about a beautiful girl you see at a coffee shop. It's entirely natural.

My main problem with the Deal or No Deal thing is that putting all of the models into the "Slave Leia" outfits is unnecessary fetishization (assuming such is a word). It might have been less creepy had they gone all out and had a couple of them in those outfits, a couple in Princess Leia white dresses, a couple in Hoth Leia outfits, etc.

Then again, I guess (I don't watch the show) there's a whole thing about having all the models in the same outfits which can either be looked at as a game feature (like the backs of playing cards) or as the ultimate degradation of stripping women of any identity apart from being sexy. I lean towards the latter explanation since sex sells.

The worst part is that the game itself is a pretty good one (though I prefer quiz shows), and I think it would have been just as successful without the sex angle.

  5. Why is there no love for the Leia Hoth outfit?

  6. Is your comedy genius really available for said events or did you just make that up?

  7. Man, I have this love/hate relationship with Howie Mandell...mostly hate...still, that's a pretty funny gimmick.

  8. I could get that whole Slave Leia thing on Friends, since the characters were all that age and Ross especially is kind of portrayed as the kind of guy who would go in for that kind of thing in a fairly harmless way . . .

But I'm kind of lost as to the point of doing the slave Leia thing for Deal or No Deal. Is it some kind of Star Wars themed episode or something?

  9. If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad, but Slave Leia hasn't been a viable fantasy since - oh,I dunno, attractive women started doing it in en mass in, say, 2000.

And I'm built like Jabba The Hutt.

  10. Sorry, but the gold bikini lost all it's power to inspire any kind of pavlovian response from this fanboy moons and moons ago. This just confirms that the whole notion of the fantasy is deader than disco. It's now the fandom equivalent of a Nelly, Ja Rule, or crunk rap track; completely drained of anything that might've made it remotely cool.

  11. I think I was into that for a week in 1983, when I was 15.

Yup. Chewbacca, R2-D2, C3P0 and Darth Vader are apparently putting in appearances as well. It's a two hour Deal Or No Deal Star Wars event.

  13. Were they joined by 13 jock boyfriends who just sort of stand there not getting why their girlfriends enjoy doing the cosplay thing and trying to intimidate the the other 13 boyfriends, all in their 501st Stormtrooper gear who are oblivious to it all as they check out the redheaded PA dressed as Mara Jade?

  14. And in the first half of the show (with a female Starwars Fan contestant), the boxes were held by Stormtroopers. I didn't pay attention enough to know if they put the female models in the stormtrooper armor not, or if they got some fan troop to participate.

Carrie Fisher was also a guest on the first half of the show.

I think Slave Leia is a popular figure because she's all things to all people. She's a woman in distress, but also a sexy ass-kicker. Pick your fantasy. Most men and women alike can find something to enjoy in her.

Although personally I like the Bespin gown the best, as far as costumes go.
