Batman III Fan Posters -- Crappy Or Awesome?

Okay, this was almost as good as watching that Superman III trailer from the previous post...

CHUD points out some Batman III fan posters that are...well, they weren't too crazy with them.

But you decide. I think the David Tennant one is sort of ok. The Catwoman one kinda looks like she has a five o'clock shadow.

  1. I like the Harley one. I personally think a Harley + Riddler is the way to go for film 3...the obvious Joker copy-cats...

  2. I like Catwoman's costume, not the poster so much. But the costume looks like it would work in Nolan's Bat Universe.

The Riddler costume meh. But casting David Tennent as the Riddler? OMG YES!

David Tennant as the Riddler? But, he's not ginger!

(Doctor Who's fans will get the joke!)

  4. i love the idea of tennant as the riddler.
    not crazy about the poster...

and now that you've linked the other posters i finally figured out they want kristen bell to be harley quinn.
i actually think she's a great choice for the role.

so yeah, not the greatest posters, great actor choices though.

  5. They're all crap.

This obsession with needing to skip exploring (and talking about) the most current film so we can somehow get all excited about something that isn't going to become even semi-tangible for *years* is frightening.

It's like we instantly lose interest in something once we actually have it. On that basis, there's not that much point them getting all excited over Batman 3 because when that eventually hits they'll skip it in favour of making Killer Croc pics for 4.

  6. They don't bother me.

After my first convention in a while (Toronto Fan Expo) I'm not surprised at the effort (or extremes) that fans will go to...

    ArrrOOOooo!

  7. I don't get the big deal with trying to start beef with someone from DeviantART, for goodness' sakes. It's not like the guy who did the posters was entering a contest. Does the CHUD dude think it makes him look like the "cool" geek on his block?

But, I'm willing to back Tennant as the Riddler because I think he can channel the Gorshin vibe -- not to mention bring some much-needed levity into Nolan's proceedings.

  8. Now I want to see Batman vs. Dr. Who. But why is the doctor wearing a hat?

  9. Sorry, but all the CHUD story does, in my opinion, is make Devin look like a complete and utter douchebag. Yes, Dark Knight was a great movie that pushed the boundaries of what can be done with th is type of film, but it's still a movie about superheroes and supervillains at the end of the day. And it's...what's the word...oh yeah, FUN to speculate about what may or may not happen next, with which actor is playing your favorite comic book character.

And I'd add that as annoying as rampant fanboy speculation over these things can be, the obsessive-compulsive film nazis who feel a need to explore and expound upon ever single utter perceived nuance of the current film are just as obnoxious, if not more so.

Frightening? Hardly. "A bit silly" is the strongest term I could conceivably apply.
