Dos Squirrel Girls

First, a clip from the Fantastic Four cartoon featuring...Squirrel Girl! (no, actually, she just has a cameo as -- you guessed it -- a rejected superhero. The clip actually features a certain green-skinned lawyer. And dig Johnny Storm screaming like a little girl!)

Second, check out preview pages from the Dan Slott story in the upcoming "Deadpool/GLI Summer Fun Spectacular"

I am in awe that Marvel lets Dan get away with this hilarious but no less scathing critique of the emo-izing of Speedball.

  3. Hello, hello,
After a couple of googling references to Santana (and the original pose the cover was based on) I found your wonderful blog/site!
Scrolled/Scanned thru some of your posts and found a wonderfully passionate and articulate fan(girl) of comics! Wowee! Kewl!
    Hope to keep reading. ^_^

  5. Great Googaly Moogaly! That's my lettering!

Y'know -- what turned my head on an otherwise big job/low pay/tight timetable in a very busy month for me, was the very nice Nicole Boose, and her patient bread-crumbing of important information to me: like working with Fabian, with Dan, Squirrel Girl... and it's Great Lakes Avengers/X-Men/Superlative Supergroup Name Here! They bury that lampoon deep and hoist the hands that feed them on their petard and bite vigorously! Who doesn't like being subversive to useless traditions and mix the metaphors!

Great blog, Val! I love what you've done with the place. Can I visit more often? Next time, I'll bring a sweet chianti or rosé for everyone to enjoy? We can debate leading and serifs.
