Hayden Christensen Now Superman?!

Will Hayden Christensen play Superman in the new Justice League movie?

/film has the wild rumor (allegedly given away by Adam "The Flash" Brody at a bar).

I'm sorry, Christensen IS the new Keanu Reeves. He is a wooden-acting, pretty-faced sci-fi GOD, I tells you.

This one would be worth it just to see how many people bitch about it.

(still liked Attack of the Clones)

  2. actually, this is the first JLA movie news i approve of...because i am beginning to suspect i have an ally inside the production machine, sabotaging this flick's chances of ever being screened.

  3. I like wooden action Keanu. He only bugs me when he tries to project an inner emotional life. Hayden doesn’t do it for me even as wooden action guy.

  4. He'd make a good Aquaman.

  5. Count me among the er, bitchers about Hayden Christensen. Man, Christensen can't act his way out of a paper bag. Hasn't he taken acting lessons?

Okay, okay, everyone was awful in the SW prequels, but he was only passable in Shattered Glass and back to awful in Jumper. His line readings are flat, expressionless, and he seems uncomfortable in his own skin. Sorry, HC, time for you to find another line of work.

    Now please.

  6. Is he playing the long-haired Superman that first appeared after that Doomsday battle (wasn't it?)

Cause I think he could totally pull of that look. (The hair and the look at least. Don't know about the acting - Haven't seen anything with him since ROTS)

Hah. Superman with long hair. When did he decide to cut it short again anyway?

  7. I was gonna bitch about this but you pre-emptively averted it. Still... a Superman with a whiny, high-pitched voice and zero charisma. Has there ever been such a thing?

    Yay! I bitched anyway!

Ah, the joys of the internet...complaining vociferously over something that may or may not come to pass. When did that replace pr0n as the #1 use of the web?

I, too, enjoyed Attack of the Clones, though I see the argument against Christensen. Thing is, George Lucas didn't WANT super-emotive acting. Most people have no complaints about Ewan MacGregor or Natalie Portman's abilities, but they were pretty stiff in those films too....

I haven't seen a lot of this guy's other work but considering that Superman is The Big Blue Boy Scout, I can see him pulling this off. Christensen as Hawkman or Green Arrow would be a lot more of a stretch. I think he'd be GREAT as (the original) Firestorm. ^_^

  9. You know, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Hayden Christensen is not a bad actor--just one who needs a good director. He was good in Shattered Glass and Life as a House.

I think his failings in SW Ep. 1-3 can be laid directly at the feet of Mr. George Lucas. You copuld give hiom Laurence Olivier, Humprey Bogart, Greta Garbo, Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep and Lucas would be unable to get a good performance out of any of them.

That would make him the male version of Jessica Alba.

After the words of LL Cool J, it's been here for years.
