Kirk Bitter Over Sulu Snub
William Shatner expresses his disappointment at not being invited to George Takei's wedding on a exclusive YouTube video:
"The whole thing makes me feel badly. The poor man, there's such a sickness there. It's so patently obvious that there's a psychosis there."
He goes on to take a dig at Takei for hiding his homosexuality & then coming out of the closet later in life:
"Finally at the age of 70 he decides to come out of the closet and say: I'm gay. Like, who cares?"
"You'd think there'd be an epiphany in someone where he might have said...poor Bill Shatner."
"There must be something inside George that is festering...and he decides to take it out on me."
"It's sad...I feel nothing but pity for him."
Of course, mission accomplished, now I'm subscribed to his YouTube videos.

Haven't loled that hard with one of your posts in a while. XD
ReplyDeleteBill "Sour Grapes" Shatner is at it again. Just leave George alone and stfu!
ReplyDeleteThat Trek facepalm thing sure has gotten around, hasn't it?
ReplyDelete"So...I'm guessing no sleepover?"
ReplyDeleteYeah, this explains a lot about why his former Trek cast members hate him, doesn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteSomehow, I often get asked to comment on the goofs of Bill Shatner.
ReplyDeleteThis probably has something to do with it:

Still, no comment.
Man, where do you get so many awesome Trek facepalm pictures?
ReplyDeleteI hope he finds the wedding invite in a pile of unread mail under an issue of Newsweek tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI added Shatner as a friend on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteGive the man credit. How many other moderately talented folks of generation are still getting high profile, good paying gigs.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me he made a deal with the same talent agent that Robert Johnson used.
I don't have a problem with anything Shatner said. In Takei's defense though, it was his day, not a photo op for the Shat.
ReplyDeleteAh, so many wonderful Trek facepalms. Mind if I steal one or two, Val? ^_~
ReplyDeleteI don't blame the Shat for being miffed at getting left off the guest list, but the tirade is just so over the top it's pathetic...
ReplyDeleteDid you see Takei's response?
ReplyDeleteHehe Ahhhh. Bill. Always about you eh?
ReplyDeleteHehe, a friend was working as a flight attendant on a flight "the Shat" was on. He told Bill he was "his biggest fan" and asked for an autograph. The Shat said "No!" and "just do your job!"...
On the return flight my friend wasn't working the flight but going home and "The Shat" was on the same flight and was bugging the attendants for all sorts of the things when he noticed my friend sitting there.
He asked my friend "Aren't you my biggest fan!?!"
He told my friend "if you are my biggest fan you would get me a drink and a blanket" my friend said "sorry, I'm not working this flight and ignored Bill the rest of the flight..."
ArrrOOOooo!
William Shatner is all class. How else can one describe a guy who makes millions of dollars for endorsements, and has a primetime network TV show, and yet is willing to take the time to hammer a gay survivor of an American World War II internment camp about not getting an invitation to a wedding?
ReplyDeleteGeorge Takei should be grateful to have ridden William Shatner's coattails all these years on the Star Trek gravy train, and should bow and scrape before the Shat, begging him to attend any event he puts on.
(Just in case there's some question: The above is sarcasm, William Shatner is a[n entertaining] dolt and George Takei is a[n often odd] cool dude.)
Peter David's website has a post about this. It turns out George did send an invitation.
