So I haven't been reading Secret Invasion because sadly I have no money to buy comics right now, but... did the Phoenix come back AGAIN?! I know that's her shtick, but I thought they might wait a little longer...
Vision and Scarlet Witch never should have been broken up. They're my favorite tragic couple, but what makes them tragic is that they're feared and hated by a world that doesn't understand their love.
Otherwise, they always seemed comfortable with each other.
The only one of these I give damn one about is Hawkeye/Mockingbird, since she died so ridiculously back in WCA and we had the carrot dangled in front of us during Secret Invasion. The rest just seem like retreads, trying to recapture some kind of lightning in a bottle that'll ultimately just disappoint.
Secret Invasion was okay, but it still doesn't make me wanna jump back into the main Marvel U. Just Ghosty, Hulk, & Eternals for me.
I will say that this Marvel Noir coming out with the X-Men & Spider-Man has me pumped. It seems kinda gimmicky, and heck, they even said they were trying to do another Marvel Zombies. Though, I do know how to dodge novelty-bullets. Didn't get Marvel Apes, and I can't vouch for Marvel Fairy Tales, but didn't get that either. It is obviously feeding off of DC/WB's release of The Spirit & Watchmen. But these Two do that all the time, to an extent. It'll be good. Plus, I'm biased because I'm just a complete sucker for noir.
The Secret Invasion was fun for the first 3 months. Now it is just dragging on and on and I want my Avengers books. Not some depressing issues where everyone hates each other, or stories dragging again, on some obscure character I never heard of before and never will again.
That promo is really, really ugly.
ReplyDeleteThat looks rather poorly photoshopped together. They couldn't afford to have an artist just draw a quick sketch?

ReplyDeletei wonder how many of them are Skrulls...i would probably know if I hadn't fallen asleep during the drek that is Secret Invasion.
ReplyDeleteWolverine/Dark Phoenix -- want
ReplyDeleteVision/Scarlet Witch -- want
Daredevil/Elektra -- this just seems to set him up for more misery.
Not that Wolverine/Phoenix is stable -- but I think both parties in that pairing are sort of realistic as to the limitations

"Shnookies"? I like it! lol
ReplyDeleteGotta agree with Lewis on this ad, looks kinda cheap.

ReplyDeleteIs that too much to ask?
All it lacks is a picture of Original Cap and Iron Man staring soulfully into each other's eyes...
ReplyDeleteDean, I do believe you and I need to make out (or as our hostess would have it "have shnookies")
ReplyDeleteAvengers: Necrophilia
ReplyDelete(though I'm not sure about Vision right now)
Wow, okay. Marvel: The House of Poorly Photoshopped Promo Ads.
