NYCC '08 Action Figure Preview Part 3: Marvel Legends

Marvel Legends Nova

This preview of upcoming Marvel Legends action figures is significant because most will find their way to my house this year. The BF is a huge fan of Hasbro's Marvel Legends line -- and he can't wait to get his hands on that Nova!

Marvel Legends Wendigo

Marvel Legends Union Jack

Marvel Legends Ultimate Nick Fury

Marvel Legends Spiral

Marvel Legends Spider-Man Assortment

Marvel Legends Skrull/Kree Two-Pack
(when you have a boyfriend who is into "army-building,"
such two-packs can be a dangerous thing.)

Marvel Legends Savage She-Hulk

Marvel Legends Red Hulk

Marvel Legends Tim Bradstreet Punisher

Marvel Legends Nick Fury

Marvel Legends Hand Soldier (another "army builder")

Marvel Legends Forge

Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure Fin Fang Foom (sweeeeet!!!)

Marvel Legends Elektra/Ronin Two-Pack

Marvel Legends Doc Samson

Marvel Legends Hulk (I believe from the upcoming video game)

Hulk The Movie Assortment
(including little Edward Norton & Tim Roth figures)

More from the Hulk movie assortment

  1. Hurrah for Doc Sampson! That's one I might have to spring for. I also want them to make figures of Dani Moonstar and X'ian Coy Manh. Actually, they need to do a boxed set of the entire New Mutants team.

  3. I haven't been overly impressed with the sculpts since Hasbro took over the line. The only figure I've personally seen that looked the best was X3 Beast. All the others, either the faces are all funky or the body proportions are just off. Nowhere near the quality, almost artistic sculpts Toy Biz produced.

That, and coupled with damn collectors making figures expensive the second they come out, have made my toy buying few and far between. I just wanna play with some cool action figures, dammit!

I hear this observation a lot. The first wave of their figures, picking up from Toy Biz, were a little boring/wonky. That Emma Frost is probably one of the worst sculpts (in terms of proportions) I've ever seen, with a teeny-tiny head.

That said, I think that Hasbro is certainly getting better with the figures. But the early days of the Toy Biz line where everybody had paint washes and separately jointed fingers and toes were kinda neat.

  5. To be fair, Toy Biz had a fair share of stinkers. X-23, Lady Deathstrike, Blackheart, Pyro, Bullseye, Sentry/Black Panther/Everyone else who used that body, the Urban Legends Punisher, the Giant-Man Thor (seriously, I have a Sabretooth and Captain America who've got more muscle than that Thor!).

Anyhow, did you see a USAgent? I'd heard they were supposed to be working on one for the same line that Union Jack's supposed to be part of.

  6. Where's Fin Fang Foom's purple underpants?

Warren Ellis promised us purple underpants!

(Okay, he did no such thing, explicitly, but it's still fun to type.)

  7. FIN!

Why is it that only McFarlane's Spidey gets the red and blues?

    FANG!

Hmm, I see that Nova's helmet sculpt doesn't taper around the edges, but atleastwegettobuildFinFang--

    FOOOOOOOM!

That Fin Fang Foom is pretty freaking sweet indeed, but where do I get the pieces for the Build-A-Figure Bill Foster Goliath?
