Speaking of "Suicide Girls"...

"In trying to make the book more about Ollie and Dinah and their relationship, we came up with a female super-villain who is in love with Ollie and is also insane."

  1. Or, you know, they could write about Ollie and Dinah's relationship....rather than going back to the cliche of the Fatal Attraction woman.

  3. I saw that storyline start, and I thought, "No, they're not gonna . . . wait . . . oh crap, they are."

    It's like a trainwreck in slo-mo.

  5. I know! Let's use the tried and true homicidal maniac girlfriend that worked in that Marvel Daredevil thing so well.

  6. This is almost as good as Morrison's feelings about Wonder Woman:

"I must admit I’ve always sensed something slightly bogus and troubling at its heart. When I dug into the roots of the character I found an uneasy mélange of girl power, bondage and disturbed sexuality that has never been adequately dealt with or fully processed out to my mind. I’ve always felt there was something oddly artificial about Wonder Woman, something not like a woman at all."

  7. It's not so much the idea of having a crazy stalker woman in the story. It's just that quote..."We want to concentrate on the relationship of Ollie & Dinah, so we are introducing this crazy chick."

It doesn't matter anyways, I predict within two years a completely new series starring GA with a totally different look & feel.

  8. Editor: Our books are selling to well, what can we do?

Artist/Writer: Well. How about having a cheesecake cover that might alienate female readers...

Editor: Sure. But might that not encourage males to buy the book?

    -pause-

Artist/Writer: I know! We'll make sure the art is really bad, so it isn't actually sexy!

Editor: That's almost as good an idea as having marketing an avant-garde work as a mainstream inter-company cross-over! Ship a million!

NOT MY IDEA! But very true that a chick falling in love with Ollie is sooo boring. It would be a million times more interesting if it were Connor. He'd feel uncomfortable and there'd be a cute subplot about Roy, Mia and Dinah trying to cheer him up, it would rock.

Can we please scrap Ollie/Dinah? It was great when it lasted, but they're both over it.

I know this is an unpopular stance, but I second that.

They would be a lot more interesting at this point as an ex-couple who occasionally (or regularly, even) work with each other.

  11. "Artist/Writer: Well. How about having a cheesecake cover that might alienate female readers..." I doubt its the cheesecake that will alienate readers and more likely just the boring art and subject matter.

I'm beginning to think that the higher ups at Time-Warner let DC do whatever it wants because they just don't care about the medium.
