Groundhog Day

This Groundhog Day I resolve not to live the same day over and over again -- but instead use my noggin and capacity for positive change.

Or, having seen my shadow, I might duck back into the apartment until Spring.

A lot will depend on if there are any clean socks.

  2. Today is Setsubun here in Japan, where you throw dried soybeans at demons to scare them away and eat maki-zushi (sushi rolls) for good luck.

Yesterday, I had to explain Groudnhog Day (and Super Bowl Sunday) to some of my students, but the stupid Japanese-English dictionary didn't have a drawing of a groundhog. I had to point to the squirrel, the beaver and the rabbit and say, "It's kinda like all of these... put together."
