This Liefeld Cover Doesn't Suck

Rich from Comic by Comic remarks,
Not only does he showcase a newer, painted, style but Cable actually has feet.

Guillermo Del Toro May Direct The Dr. Strange Movie...But Won't Use The Outfit!

"I said [to Neil Gaiman], that’s an interesting character because you can definitely make him more in the pulpy occult detective/magician mould and formula than was done in the Weird Tales, for example... the idea of a character that really dabbles in the occult in a way that’s not X-Filey, where the supernatural is taken for granted. That’s interesting...But I wouldn't use the suit!"

I dunno, is all that pink sort of sexist?

  1. About the bathroom: I don't think I want my feet in a massage/spa thing while I'm peeing. That's worse than the Pepto Pink.

  2. Must be I have a different threshold for "doesn't suck." BUT I am super into the Batman's alignments thing!

  3. But it doesn't suck quite as much.

    Thanks for the link Val!

  4. I loved those goddamn Batman alignments!

  5. That has to be the most hideous bathroom that I've ever seen.

  6. On the Rob Liefeld cover: Does it suck? No it doesn't suck, is it good? Not even remotely. Despite being painted in a nice fashion it's flaws are as obvious as all of Rob's work. Bad anatomy and compostion.

  7. Worse than the anatomy the perspective on the guns and knives is really terrible...

still hard for me to hate on Liefeld, he's the one comic artist that inspired me to pick up a pencil and start drawing. I remember very vividly after reading X-Force #3 thinking "this is terrible, I can draw better than this"

  8. I'm not the biggest Dr. Strange fan and I'll agree that the costume in that picture wouldn't translate to live-action too well, but there should be SOMETHING similar to that for him to wear. He's had a lot of different styles over the years.

In fact, if you've ever seen the Guy Pearce/Jim Cavizel "Count of Monte Cristo" flick, there's a scene where Cavizel is walking down the steps with this big red cloak flowing behind him in slow-mo that just SCREAMS Dr. Strange. Of course, Cavizel's goatee didn't hurt the image either.

  9. The Nintendo Wii is the #1 most requested item on Amazon's wedding registry, last I checked.

Lone Wolf and Cable, anyone? I still can't forgive Cable for taking the space that Deadpool really deserves. Grr.

And everyone knows that Batman's alignment is Neutral Badass. I recognise most of those quotes, but is there a list of where they're all from?

  10. Where can I get me some of them Chuck Norris Karate pants? I remember seeing this ad in old martial arts magazines, cool. As for Doc Strange I hope they take a look at some of the redesigns that were done for the character in the mid 90's, there were some good options there that I think would work well for film.

  11. Now I'm actually trying to imagine which Wii game would be the easiest to play while sitting on the toilet. Damn you hideous pink bathroom!

  12. Ah... Dr. Strange's shirt dress and tights are sooooo kee-UTE! (And much better than that blue body stocking he wore in the late 1960s.)

How about they give him a blue business suit to wear beneath the red cape? Of course, if it's a cloak of levitation, and Dr. Strange is a Master, can't he make it appear as a burgundy trench coat?

That bathroom reminds me of something out of a Barbie toy catalog. Almost as bad: the LEGO bricks "Girls" line from the early 1980s. How bad? Well, LEGO was popular back then, yet these sets could be found in discount stores. Nice pastel colors, though.

wii in the bathroom? Isn't there a PAUSE button on the remote for such necessities?
