Spoilers Ahoy
The New York Daily News revealed a major spoiler for the latest issue of Captain America, telling its readers who would be taking up the shield:
Less than a year after the legendary star-spangled superhero was killed off in his comic book, his former teenage sidekick is being promoted to fill those big red boots in the latest issue, out Wednesday.Of course, the identity of the new Cap hardly comes as a shock, as it has been speculated for months.
It's just funny that non-comic media have a hard time with the concept of "spoilers" for comics.
And anyway, I don't think anyone will now not buy the book just because they found out the new Captain America's identity. In the end, this title isn't fueled by cheap gimmicks showcasing a series of character deaths and rebirths -- it actually has a good writer.
I'm shocked, I tell you. Shocked and disappointed. Sam Wilson's day will come!
ReplyDeleteIt would have been cool if it were the falcon, but I guess the drawings gave that away anyway.
ReplyDeleteThis was confirmed in the previous issue anyway. No big deal.
ReplyDeleteThis was pointed out last issue, in very specific details. Does anyone read the books they comment on anymore?
ReplyDeleteThis is only a spoiler to people who don't read Captain America.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone read the books they comment on anymore?
ReplyDeleteOh shit, was there required reading to comment? lol.
I don't even read CA, and this seemed totally obvious and inevitable.
ReplyDeleteIt was pointed out last issue that Tony & Bucky planned to have Bucky take up the mantle -- but sometimes plans go astray. It's still a spoiler...just not a very surprising one.
ReplyDeletes'fine, but whatever.
ReplyDeleteWas noted last issue as others said above, and also strongly hinted in last week's Young Avengers Presents issue. Bucky is even living in Steve's place, it looks like.
