Seven Reasons Why The Comic Book Industry Needs To Create More Teen Role-Models

  1. Thankfully, my 14-year-old daughter has little interest in the examples you posted. Her only response to Britney Spears' head-shaving was laughter. As for comic-book role models, she likes Spider-Girl and the real Batgirl.

  2. I'm really amazed at how frickin WORTHLESS most of the girls you posted here about are. I'm sorry, but I'm sick and TIRED of the stupid, hot chick in the public view and the fact the only thing they seem to contribute to society at this point is to display how shallow and idiotic their lives are. Sound harsh? Yes it is, but let's take a look at these girls:

Lindsey Lohan: A cute young girl who started growing into a nice young woman who seemed to have some nice acting chops but seems determined to kill herself. I do not consider her in the "worthless" list but she's quickly approaching it. She's the poster child for someone how got too big too fast and had not ONE responsable adult to help guide her. Her father and mother are perfect examples or horrible parents and role models. She can be saved and could turn herself into a wonderful actress but she needs helps and needs to understand what she is doing to herself.

Jessica Simpson: She doesn't seem to have the self-destruction streak most of the girls here have, and she doesn't seem to be a bad person at all. However, what is she famous for? Being beautiful and being dumb. This is what we push towards fame? I do not think she has any real vocal talent.. certainly nothing above average... she can't act worth a LICK... her reality show was embarrassing... at least she's not a boozing party girl from what I have heard... but if this is a "celeb" younger girls have to look up to, it's sad.

Brittney Spears: Any... ANY respect I had for this girl at any point is gone. I actually did like a few of her songs for a few years ago and kind of saw her going in the "Madonna" mode of a powerful and influentual woman (Not that I am a fan of Madonna, but even I cannot argue with the influence she's had on music and entertainment over the years) but the last two years has proven Brittney is a terrible mother and is a child playing in an adult body. Talk about "freaky Friday". my God... she's like a 12 year old. There is no way you will convince me that her rash of "accidental exposure" scenes of her sans-panties was not done on purpose as publicity stunts. Her behavior is beyond gross. Her constant puking, partying and passing out accounts the last few months shows a girl on the fringe of mental incompetence. THIS is a mother of two? THIS is a idol of millions of little girls? I'm disgusted and only want to see her OUT of the public view.

Paris Hilton: Most likely the largest waste of life existing on the face of the earth. Oh my GOD I'm sorry on how harsh this sounds... but she is the perfect example of what us normal folks DESPISE about the shallow rich kids who will never want for anything and get away with everything. Has never contributed one iota towards society and I highly doubt she ever will. The South Park episode that trashed her was TAME compared to who this woman really portrays herself to be. With her being Spears' new best friend the girl is lost.

Mary-Kate Olsen: The only, and I mean ONLY girl on this list who I honesty have true respect for. Her weight issues not withstanding, she seems to (with her sister) have a strong personality and solid intelligence and has a handle on her fame. Not a boozing party animal who lives only to drink, have pictures taken of and act like the world's her playground and life is a joke. I feel bad for her issues with her need to be skinny, but I happen to feel her and her sister are the only ones on this list who I would be glad to hear my neices and younger sister look up to.

Nicole Richie: See Paris Hilton. If it wasn't for the fact they have been seen together I'd be convinced they are the same person.

Anna Nicole Smith: Far be it from me to talk ill of the dead... may she rest in peace, but this was a woman who pimped her son on a reality show and destroyed his chance to be normal... as well as as showed herself to be a pathetic woman with an honestly limited grasp of reality on that show. I had little or no opinion of her early on. I couldn;t care less about her stripper days, or Guess jeans model days or Playboy model days. I do not disparage woman who are stripper or models or who take off their clothes for magazines or movies or whatever. To each their own. I love woman and appreciate the female form as much as anyone. I'm no prude and do not turn a nose up at these professions. I knew nothiong about her other than the one movie I saw her in showed she couldn't act.... but I wasn't concerned with that. She was a name only and my thoughts never turned to wonder about her until I was exposed to her on that reality show. The little bit I saw was like a train wreck. I only pray that SOMEONE responsable gets custody of her daughter and raises the girl to learn from her mother's mistakes in life. I feel sympathy for Anna's memory because I honestly think she had a limited intelligence... at least that's how it seemed to me.

Please do not get the wrong idea here Val. I'm not looking to turn your post in a trashing of woman. Instead, I just felt compelled to release the disgust I have built up having to see and hear about many of these girls/women and the fact that THESE are the "famous" ones that young girls see and emulate day in and day out. I do not have any daughters to protect from these stories, but I have three sones who I need to make sure I point out to that these are NOT the average woman and they cannot start getting the wrong sense of young woman from these horrible examples.

Their behavor is a perfect example of why many young and teenage boys have such low opinions of women. Toss in that many of them have lousy father figures who treat woman as a lower-class citizen and add in some exposure to Brittney and Paris and is it a wonder why many young men grow up with the twisted view they have on women?

Sorry... I should just tone myself down. My wife says I shouldn't begin to let myself get annoyed at things like this, but I do.

  3. Wow... my last post was LONG. I have a very over inflated view of my own opinions huh? :)

    Sorry about that Val.

  4. I much prefer girls like:

Natalie Portman, Eva Green, Keira Knightley... beautiful women who have talent, beauty, and are respectable.

  5. Take note how many of these no talent, self absorbed, idiots came from the Disney factory.
