Spider-Man "New Ways To Die" Sold Out Two Issues In A Row

Amazing Spider-Man #569, the second part of the "New Ways To Die" storyline (a.k.a. "The Anti-Venom Arc"), has sold out from Diamond on the same day it hits stands. This follows the first issue, #568, selling out last week.

Congratulations, Dan. You have a real hit on your hands, and you deserve it.

  3. Meh, it's just a hyped-up storyline, Mordicai. And bear in mind that it's possible that while it sold out, it's only because there was a smaller number of copies produced.

Also, just because there were enough orders from Diamond to sell out, that doesn't mean people are buying them. When I went to my shop today there were dozrens of copies still sitting on the rack. Of course, people were probably gravitating towards the quarter bin that the shop had set up outside to clear out some old stock...

  5. Venom... Anti-Venom... merge them together and you get the Spot. Me, I'd like Venom to take over Aunt May... call her Aunty Venom... Or the Black Widow...

  7. Plenty of love for Venom. Even Carnage (Maximum Carnage is one of my favorite storylines). Heck, I even like those inverted-color type of situations. I'm still bitter about OMD, though. ^_~

  8. Y'know, I dropped Spidey a long while ago, flipped through the "One More Day" and first few "Brand New Day" books, and never felt compelled to re-add it to my pull list.

And I've bought the first two NWTD issues sight-unread. Why? Not because of some "hyped-up storyline", and certainly not because of Venom... Because JRJR and Slott are two of the only creators I'll follow pretty much anywhere. Best superhero artist in the biz, and that dude who seems to bring a breezy & fun ethic to every book he touches. Both on one book? No-brainer. (And y'know what? It's every bit as good as I hoped.)
