DC Showcase Titles Cancelled
According to CBR, the following DC Showcase collections have been cancelled:
Suicide Squad
Secret Society of Super-Villains
Jonah Hex Volume 2
The Great Disaster
Captain Carrot
Occasional Superheroine, who counts the Showcase editions as one of the few things she purchases from DC with any regularity or zest, had this to say:
Aw shoot. I was looking forward to the SSofSV volume.
ReplyDeleteGODDAMNITALLTOHELL! I think I've got some gaps in my early Suicide Squad run, and I know it gets thin after the 20's. I was really looking forward to seeing Luke McDonnell's art in black and white, which was sure to impress more than old 80's garish color. Stupid creator's rights! Stupid living wages!
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHHHH I am so mad now!
ReplyDeleteJonah Hex Volume 2
The Great Disaster
Captain Carrot
I was gonna get all three!
AHHHHHHHH
Just... crap.
ReplyDeleteI had three of them ordered as well.
*sigh*
Dang, I was going to get the Suicide Squad one as reference for the mini on which Robin's working, as we can't find any of my old issues (they might have gone to Steve in the divorce)...
ReplyDeleteNo!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteI knew a Cap Carrot collection was too good to be true... I just knew it...
sigh.
This will NOT make me pry open the mylar on my mint/near mint Suicide Squad stash. I WILL NOT DO IT. Do you hear me DC?
Most of 'em I don't mind too much, but I was -really- looking forward to Suicide Squad.

They did say that they were going to resolicit at a later date (which, yes, jam tomorrow and all that, but I live in hope.)
ReplyDeleteAnd they're moving up the Teen Titans Volume 2, Metal Men Volume 2, and adding in as replacements World's Finest, Supergirl, Sgt. Rock, and more Brave and the Bold and JLA. So it's not all bad news (the three new solicits are all ones I was hoping to see at some point.)
