Link To Punisher Butterfly Preview Pages

UPDATE: You can also find previews for BUTTERFLY at:
I'm starting to get a bunch of personal emails coming in about the preview, and I'm just very encouraged. I was very very happy with the way this book was handled by Marvel. And there was really no other artist who could bring this story to life the way Laurence Campbell did.

If there is anybody who has the preview up on their site that I've missed, please let me know and I'll link to you!

Hey all,

The French website Superpouvoir has a bunch of lettered pages from PUNISHER MAX: BUTTERFLY upon their site. So if you want to read the beginning of this book, out next week (March 3), here is your chance. Glory in the awesomeness that is Laurence Campbell artwork!

Please be advised tho, that, like other MAX titles, this book is for adults and the preview itself is NSFW (language, violence, a hint of sex). With that proviso: go check it out!

And let me know what ya think!

I don't like to read preview pages of things I am going to buy. But I did glance at this. The art is amazing. Very much looking forward to it. Here is hoping you get more of this sort of work, as I would buy it.

I'm a dumbass and I somehow got it into my head that your comics may of been out. So when I went to Lee's when I was down in Palo Alto earlier this week, I asked for comics by you.

Also, to Anonymous, preview pages are often pointless to me to. But sometimes, such as for The Guild #1, they can sway a purchase.

  5. I like preview pages because I want to see how the artist handles all the sequential storytelling stuff. Does it flow from panel to panel or is it just a bunch of static images and crappy exaggerated anatomy or meaningless flash and things like that.

If the art's by someone I'm familiar with, the preview isn't so helpful other than whetting my appetite. I buy anything buy Mike Mignola, for example.

But if it's art by someone I've never encountered before, I like being able to make a decision before I shell out double cover price-- which is the going rate here in Japan for imported comics. And this the case with this book. I figured the writing would be solid enough and there was enough of a curiosity factor involved with seeing Valerie's aesthetic/artistic/philosophical concerns in action, but considering the effort and price the art had to be the deciding factor here. Hackwork wouldn't cut it.

Chances of buying it... not so good, unfortunately. The preview pages make me want it, yeah, but everything's in flux here-- job changing, moving back to the US, the only comic book shop within 200 miles that stocks Marvel books is in the process of moving to a new city ward in Tokyo, I can't take any day trips to the city, it may or may not be stocked by the store in any event...

Frustrating! Hopefully when and if I get back to the States, I'll be able to locate a copy.

So to some up... that's the point of preview pages.

And good luck with this, Valerie! Once again, what I've seen looks mighty tasty!

I said it on Twitter, and I'll say it again. I never cared about the Punisher, but just casually looking at the preview for this, I'm a little blown away and will definitely be looking for this on the shelves.
