"Sexy Batgirl Figure"
"Her Sexy Costume Is Flawless"
"Fans Are Wetting Themselves To See Ledger As The Joker"
Question: This Joker-centric WizardUniverse.com "cover story" on The Dark Knight, is it a bit too soon after Heath Ledger's death? Also, I can't find a disclaimer on the article regarding Ledger's passing:
"But it’s the Joker, played by Heath Ledger, who fans are wetting themselves to see. And despite a media blackout surrounding the villain, Heath has been able to sneak out a few tidbits about his take on the character.Cree-py...
“To play a villain, one must throw it all out the window,” revealed Ledger in an online interview. “And I have not yet really explored that kind of dark side, which makes me enthusiastic to play [the Joker]. This role, I am told, will be like watching a car wreck that won’t stop. And from the script pieces I’ve been sent on my character’s angles, it just gets deeper and deeper. This guy is a shark, a fearless shark, and I know I can bring that alive.”
and
“The smile and the scars from a razor…he’s very forbidding and not like a clown,” Oldman describes of Ledger’s Joker in a low, serious voice. “It’s very dangerous, very unhinged, what he’s doing and he plays him like someone on—I don’t know. It’s like Coco the Clown on crack…Heath is going to blow you away."
It's like nobody is acknowledging that he died...even some edits in the article would have helped. Maybe this is Warner Brothers' new marketing strategy for the film. "Death? What death?"

I see Wizard's editorial virtuosity remains unchanged in the decade or so since I stopped reading their magazines.
Good on you, boys.
Warner's over a barrel on this. Anything they do in relation to Ledger's death is going to make them look ghoulish. Given that, maybe completely ignoring it is the best policy.
Could it be that the lead time was to much? That this article was written, sent to the composing room, and perhaps even printed before Ledger's death?
I am not one to defend Wizard, but it seems that the reason why Ledger's death wasn't mentioned because it may have happened after this issue was put to bed.
William - I'd think that was the reason too.
That Batgirl figure is just...words fail me.
Wizard's a monthly, so likely have a 4-week close time prior to publication, which means that issue probably went to press two weeks prior to Ledger's death.
You could argue - and I would - that it would make sense to slap a quick Editor's Note on the online version to clarify that though.
What an Ideal toy.
That costume's pretty boring. I like sexy as much as the next guy, but that toy doesn't even look like it's trying very hard. Sometimes, less skin is more sexy, and this definitely one of those times.
Wizard's eBay store has been going crazy selling Heath Ledger covered Wizard Movie Specials for almost 10x the cover price. I don't think they have any problem with raping a warm corpse for cash.
